Valentine's Day 101

An email advertising Valentine Cards landed in my inbox this week, which brought me to the stunning realization that now that Connor goes to public school, I have the option of purchasing cards, rather than either punting on the whole effort or making cards by hand. I'm certainly not opposed to handmade cards - I rather like the idea, in fact. But unless the cards get made with my parents on a pre-Valentine's Day vacation this year, I'm guessing we'll be in the buying camp. So..save me, Tiny Prints!*

I perused the Tiny Prints Valentine's Day Greeting Cards with Connor and then him there with instructions to click on "favorite" for his favorites. He chose 23. Which is another way to say, I guess first grade boys aren't that picky in the Valentine's card department. Eventually, he decided on a lego themed card.

Although we won't be taking advantage of it this year, I noticed that several cards allow you to add a photo of your choosing - which might mean that next year, rather than Christmas cards - I'll send valentines, instead!

*And yes, I confirmed with another parent that our school is a Valentine's Day celebrating school, lest I endure the pain of having Connor address 20 cards only to learn the effort was a waste. She also mentioned that in first grade and Kindergarten, you give a Valentine to everyone in your class. After that, you can choose who you give Valentines to. What?!? I'm trying to teach my kid to get along with everyone in his class, can't we all agree to give valentines to everyone for many years?

Disclosure: I will receive a code that can be redeemed for 50 children's valentines for writing this post. All opinions are mine.
